How it works: each block's reward is computed from target = (2²⁵⁶−1) ÷ difficulty, using exact integer arithmetic so every node agrees on the same number. More miners → higher difficulty → smaller reward; miners leave → difficulty falls → the reward rises again. No ratchet, no memory — anchored at 255 GAL (difficulty 1), 128 GAL (Monero-scale difficulty), 1 GAL minimum. It never reaches zero.
Galimi is private by default: ring signatures obscure the sender, stealth addresses obscure the receiver, and confidential transactions obscure the amount.
1Install
- Download the
.deb file above, then open a terminal in its folder.
- Install it:
sudo dpkg -i galimi-wallet-gui_0.18.5.3-2_amd64_x86-64.deb
- If it asks for missing dependencies:
sudo apt-get install -f
- Find Galimi Wallet in your applications menu and launch it.
The package also installs the Galimi daemon (galimid) and command-line wallet (galimi-wallet-cli), available on your PATH.
2Connect to the Galimi network
The wallet needs a node to sync with. Use the public Galimi remote node:
- Open Settings → Wallet → Close this wallet.
- On the welcome screen, click Change wallet mode (bottom of screen) and choose Advanced.
- Reopen your wallet, then go to Settings → Node.
- Select Remote node and enter:
Host: galimi-node.pregman.trade
Port: 28089
(No username / password needed)
The wallet will begin syncing, then show your balance once it is synchronized.
